The cop was filmed on a green screen outside, so I cropped out any unnecessary parts of the plate to make the keying easier. Tracking was done by a 2D tracker in Nuke, I set various markers on the trees and bushes around where the cop would be placed, using offsets when needed to make the track stick. Had to use a variation of rotos and various keys to bring bushes back in front of the cops feet.

Did rotos of where the teeth were showing in Mocha. Depending on the length of time the teeth were showing I either used a method of just making a roto and using color corrects, taking a hold frame or time offset and rotos and animating it to keep the mouth the same color when it is open or just using roto paint. Did a combo of 2D tracking the real teeth and a 3D track on the head to get the correct motion. Used animated color corrects and grades to get the right colors and brightness as the teeth move.

Tracked using Mocha and composited in Nuke. In Nuke I had to clean plate the metal pieces holding the wooden plank in place by doing roto paint outs and frame holds. I had to key the two actors on their own separate plates and then use re-times and some hand animation to get the possession effect.

Had to remove the blood bag bursting by doing roto paints to hide it. Tracked the blood on his chest from the original plate to place the wound. Used a combination of roto paints and transforms to open the actor’s shirt more than it did on the original plate and added the wound beneath and blood effect over.

Had to make a clean plate for the actor where the green suit actor crosses over using a series of roto paints and animated transforms. Made some interactive lighting for when the mid troll crosses between light and shadow. Changed up lighting effects, patched in hole on the side and adjusted defocus of the bridge. Added in kicked up snow toward the bridge entrance and footprints appearing as the troll is walking.

Made a clean plate of the floor using a combination of roto paint and a hold frame. Took out the leg with a roto tracked in Mocha. Added an animated color correct for interactive lighting as the other actor walks into the scene.

I used a combination of hold frames and rotos to bring in the patches of the matte painting to cover up the actor in the green screen suit. Had to use hold frames, roto paint and rotos to remove the lead wire from the horse. There was also the top of another actors head that showed up between the baby carrier and the head of the character on the right; I had to use a hold frame from an area that had most of the ledge not blocked by the actor and a little bit of roto paint to blend the area in. Did some gamma correction on both characters as well as fine tuning the defocus. On Mica (character on the left) I had to patch up various holes in his render to make sure the actor or background did not bleed through, there was also what seemed to be either a hole or a floating spike that I blended back in using a transform and roto. Had to cover a piece of the eye of Beryl (character on the right) where the eye was coming through the eyelid.

Used a combination of rotos and keys to get the rigs and wires removed. Used separate transform nodes to give the falling effect for the foreground and background elements. Added in camera shake.
